The Pope

— 5:32 pm

There are certainly a lot of areas where I disagree with the Pope and the Catholic Church–Terri Schiavo included–but my overwhelming feeling is that this Pope has done a tremendous amount of good for the world and for his church. My view of the Catholic Church is way more positive with John Paul II at its helm than it probably would be with any other person in charge.

Do you own a set of drums? Do you have access to a place with electrical outlets where you can play such drums loudly? Do you live in the Columbus, Ohio area? D’ya wanna start a band? I’ll play bass!

San Diegin’

  1. The zoo is awesome. I filled up a 512 MB memory card with photos. All told, I have over a gigabyte of photos so far.
  2. The desert is in bloom. We drove out to Anza-Borrega Desert State Park and it was amazing. I could understand why some people wouldn’t want to live in any other state (despite the earthquakes and forest fires).
  3. Today we’re going to the Wild Animal Park.
  4. Tomorrow, the Birch Aquarium and Museum of Contemporary Art.

If you believe that a woman can miraculously live without a cerebral cortex, why don’t you believe she can miraculously live without food and water?

Happy my least two favorite holidays

— 10:29 pm

St. Patrick’s Day and April Fools’ Day. At least when you’re a kid. One’s the holiday where it’s okay to pinch people, and the other is the one where it’s okay to play cruel pranks on people. But on the sweet side, my birthday isn’t far…

No you didn’t

The World Bank is supposed to help other countries. And you, Mr. President, went and picked…I don’t even want to say his name, I hate him so much. At least he’ll be out of the Defense Department and won’t be able to kill people anymore (at least not with weapons).

Nationalism: bad. Internationalism: good!

Okay, there were just too many cosmic coincidences when I saw Diary of a Mad Black Woman. I’ll sort them all out later. First off, the movie won me over. Is it a well-made movie? A well-told story? No. Is it entertaining? Does it have a good heart? Does it have some wisdom to it? Absolutely.

I was so sure that the lead actress in this movie was in one of the best scenes in Pootie Tang! I was so wrong!

I don’t want to give away a plot point, but there was an event in this movie that was astonishingly similar to an event today in real life.

Disclaimer

— 9:23 am

Lots of 50 Cent comments…I forgot to mention that I do not claim to know anything about anything about hip hop, especially anything after about 1993. I did get most of the jokes in CB4 and Fear of a Black Hat, though. And I used to work on the show before JP Chill’s.

Who’s got it

— 9:18 am

My mom, surprisingly, doesn’t agree, but I think Conan O’Brien’s got it. Johnny Carson had it. You know who else has it? Regis and Kelly. Regis and Kathy Lee didn’t have it at all, but Regis and Kelly are hilarious. I honestly don’t see it with Jay Leno. And I don’t get Letterman either. I think he used to be funny and he’s still cool with people of a certain age who haven’t realized he’s not funny anymore.

And, I forgot to mention: 50 Cent obviously reads this blog and considered my arguments thoughtful and well-reasoned. Or it was all a publicity stunt…a publicity stunt with guns. Meanwhile, this site is the number one result on Google for “50 Cent sucks”. And Diary of a 1L is still the number one result for “1L bored”.
