This is the third time I’ve listened to this R. Stevie Moore album, and each other time someone called me in the middle of it. Don’t call me! Let me listen to this album! Thanks.

Sorry I’m such a heel

— 9:58 pm

I owe like four very pretty ladies an e-mail. At least. Probably more like six. Probably more than that, if you include the people I should have gotten back in touch with by now.

Bye bye crap

I can’t believe the episode ended less than half an hour ago! It seems like a lifetime! So much to think about…that’s the kind of TV I like.

Good job Lost!

— 10:15 pm

You guys are making a really good show! I think that’s actually the first one I watched on first broadcast from start to finish (as opposed to reading summaries or watching on the web). Suspense, thrills, weird stuff, high emotion…I just hope people don’t start saying “Oh, but it’s tooooo complicated! I don’t geeeet it!” and they stop watching and it gets cancelled like Twin Peaks before they can resolve all the mysteries.

In other news, my GRE class tonight laughed at some of my jokes! YES! I love making people laugh!

May Sweeps are dumb

Because of sweeps, TV has an incentive to put on all their best and most interesting shows at the same time, all against one another. If all ratings were measured accurately year-round, then the incentive would be to try to provide programming that will be highly watched every day of the year!

I still have 3800 Westlaw points!

I’m glad I discovered them before they expired…

When I’m not busy, I feel like I’m sitting around waiting for someone to e-mail me. And it can be many hours between e-mails. And then once I get one, I have to write back. And then I’m busy! I think I might enjoy getting a certain volume of e-mails from people I know that I’m not expected to respond to. I would write some like that to you. Actually, that’s sort of what a blog is.

Arrgh! Maybe I should have waited just a few days to cancel my cable. Or I should have gone to a bar or something so I could be watching the Cavs game on TV instead of as a slowly updating flash file.

How to write a bestseller

— 7:37 am
  1. Think of any dumb idea.
  2. Write a book.
  3. In the text, continually but subtly reassure the reader that they are reading about REALLY IMPORTANT, LIFE-CHANGING ideas (e.g. The DaVinci Code, The Celestine Prophecy, Who Moved My Cheese?, or that if they’ve heard of the important character in the book they are REALLY COOL and everyone else is REALLY DUMB (Harry Potter).
  4. Sell a zillion copies of that crap.
